Mark Camilleri, Senior Child and Family Practitioner, is a registered Psychologist with a Master of Public Health. Preferred pronouns he/him.

Mark is passionate about working with ‘vulnerable’ and ‘at risk’ clients, particularly people with an intellectual disability and LGBTIQ+ young people and their families.

He is an experienced clinician and for the past 27 years has worked across individual, families and groups, delivering counselling, clinical services, education, health promotion and wellbeing programs.

I have substantial experience working in Human Relations, Sexuality, Relationships development and Rules and Laws about Sex with young people with an intellectual disability and their families through my work at Disability Services, Department of Families, Fairness and Health, Merri Health and Sexual Health Victoria and Royal Children’s Hospital. I am proficient in managing problem sexual behaviour/harmful sexual behaviours.

I have extensive experience working with LGBTIQ+ people across the stages of life including, disclosure (coming out/staying in), sexuality and positivity, coming out later in life, building healthy relationships, substance use, managing stigma and discrimination, and incorporating sexuality and gender into self.
I am skilled in working with trans, gender diverse and non-binary young people and their families in navigating the gender journey and finding inclusion and support. I have been supporting trans, gender diverse and non binary people and their families since 2002 and have useful insights into gender journeys.

I am interested in exploring the developing pathways of navigating religion, sexuality and spirituality, particularly, being gay and Christian. To hear and hold stories of how we might reconcile faith, spirituality and notions of sin and affirming sexuality, gender and identity. I am skilled in navigating intersectionality and holding multiple true stories of faith, sexuality and gender identities.
